ONE ROOM CHALLENGE FALL 2022 – WEEK SIX

Voila! And just like that we have flooring, millwork, freshly skimmed walls, painted doors and trim. These are the elements that you just can’t overlook in a room design. You have to have good bones to work with, especially in a hallway. Here, we added some architectural details through millwork. You can read all about it in Week 4.

THIS WEEK!

We spent this week under construction. Everything except the lighting, doors and hardware were installed. Lighting won’t go up until after wallpaper and the doors are curing on my back porch form getting two coats of primer and two coats of paint.

DETAILS – PAINT

I finally landed on a paint color, I think! Well, for sure the doors and trim, but I am still pondering on the wall paint. Thank you do much to my local Sherwin Williams paint store and my amazing rep Melanie for helping get my order together. I chose SW 6994 Greenblack. I matched it to the wallpaper going below the chair rial. For the main wall paint color I chose SW 6336 Nearly Peach. I always knew I wanted to incorporate coral in my home. I’m a Florida girl, so it’s a given.

I am still pondering on attacking a DIY grass cloth wall paint treatment. This is my inspiration below. The best technique I have come across so far is this one. Let’s revisit this in Week 7!!!

DETAILS – WALLPAPER

The wallpaper is honestly where it all started. Thank you so much to my Mitchell Black rep Marcy for helping me pull this together. Fun Fact.
